Martin MacDonald runs Mac Nutrition University. He is arguably one of the world's best evidence-based nutritionists. Here he sums up what it means.

judicious use of current best empirical evidence when making decisions about how to practice when providing information and care for clients/patients. This best evidence should be
combined with practitioner expertise and should consider the characteristics, state, needs, values and preferences of those who will be affected." – MNU, (2016)
So when you see an evidence-based practitioner, know they will go the extra mile for you and are a million per cent better than Karen from your local slimming club.
Furthermore, if anyone tells you to put butter in your coffee for fat loss, punch them in the nose. This is yet more silly bullshit doing the rounds at the moment.
